The Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) Department of Pathology offers the following Educational Programs: Graduate Programs, Fellowship Programs, Resident Programs, and Undergraduate Medical School education. The Department also offers the following Research Laboratory Programs: cellular and molecular pathogenesis, oncogenomics and proteomics, molecular diagnostics, paleopathology, telomerase, aging and cancer. Clinical Laboratory Services include: clinical and anatomic pathology, and molecular diagnostic labs, as well as transfusion medicine, including a blood bank. These labs offer testing in molecular diagnostics, cytogenetics, coagulation/hemostasis, microbiology/ immunology, chemistry and toxicology, forensic toxicology, autopsy, cytopathology, neuropathology, and surgical pathology including renal and dermatopathology.
