What we can't do....
Our goal is to provide advice and resources to enable you to independently use statistical packages available at VCU to analyze your dissertation, research or administrative data.
- We can not: write programs to perform your data management for you. We can suggest strategies, show you example programs, outline programs for you, or assist you with debugging but we cannot write the programs for you.
- We will not: make decisions about how you should analyze your data. We can suggest the various analyses which can be performed on your data, the pros and cons of the analyses, but it is up to you (or you and your advisor/dissertation committee) to decide what analyses you should use.
- We can not: perform data analysis for you.
- We will not do your homework for you. The best person to help you with your coursework is your Teaching Assistant and/or your Professor.
- We do not provide tutoring in SAS, SPSS, etc. Our web site provides links for classes, tutorials and manuals for learning products such as SAS, SPSS, etc.
- We can't turn back the clock. Data analysis usually takes longer than most people plan for. Sometimes it requires multiple appointments. To ensure you can meet your deadlines, we recommend that you start early and set aside sufficient time to prepare your grant request or analyze your data.
